Before you arrive

Frequently asked questions.

A Head Spa is a well-being and self-care ritual combining gentle scalp cleansing, hair care, head, neck and shoulder massage, and the soothing sensation of warm water. It offers a pause from everyday life, helps ease stress and creates an experience of deep relaxation and well-being.

Before the ritual, we make a simple visual assessment of the scalp and discuss any sensitivities or preferences so the experience can be adapted. Lua Serena Head Spa is a relaxation and well-being service: we do not provide clinical diagnoses or treat conditions such as alopecia, dermatitis or severe dandruff. This assessment does not replace medical or dermatological advice.

A Head Spa offers deep relaxation, helps ease built-up tension and mental fatigue, and promotes a sense of lightness, rest and well-being. The cleansing and care performed during the ritual also leave the scalp and hair feeling pleasantly clean and fresh. It is perfectly normal to feel sleepy during the session.

A Head Spa supports scalp cleansing and care, but it is not a treatment for hair loss and cannot guarantee results in this area. If hair loss is persistent or significant, we recommend consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

Yes. Our rituals are for anyone seeking relaxation, well-being and scalp care, regardless of gender.

Frequency depends on each person's preferences and needs. You can book an occasional session or make it part of a regular self-care routine, for example once a month.

Clear information

Privacy and cookies.

How we process data and which external services are used on this website.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1. Data controller

Data processing is the responsibility of Luana Costa, the professional responsible for the Lua Serena Head Spa project.

Service location, by appointment: Rua Jaime Palhinha 1, Shop 2, Edifício Europa, 8500-510 Portimão. For privacy enquiries, contact: info@luaserena.pt.

2. Data we process

The contact form processes your name, email address and the message you choose to send. For bookings made through Cal.com, the data requested by that platform may be processed, including your name, contact details, chosen date and time, and any other information you provide.

The private consultation-record area processes identification and contact details, information required to assess contraindications and follow the service, session notes, the signature image and, only when separate authorisation has been given, scalp photographs used to record progress. These are health data and receive enhanced protection.

We also process technical data strictly related to operation and security, such as IP address, browser, device, and the date and time of access or submission.

If the request concerns a child, the booking must be made by their legal guardian. Please avoid including clinical information or detailed health data in the general contact form.

3. Purposes and legal basis

The data are used to answer questions, handle booking requests, organise the provision of services and keep the records needed to support the professional relationship.

Data collected in the consultation-record area are used to assess contraindications, provide Massage or Head Spa services, follow subsequent sessions, retain proof of consent and, when an email address is provided, send the client a copy of the signed record. Health-data processing and the recording of scalp photographs in a Head Spa context rely on explicit consent given before signing. The photographs are used solely to monitor the progress of the service.

Processing is based on steps requested before the service is provided, on the performance of the professional relationship where applicable, and on the legitimate interest in managing and protecting received communications. Data are not used for newsletters or advertising without specific authorisation.

4. Private consultation-record area

The private consultation-record area is protected by access controls and is intended solely for Lua Serena's authorised internal management. Records, notes and other text data are stored using Cloudflare D1 services; signatures and authorised photographs are stored in Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare acts as the technical storage and security provider. File access is not public and is not made available to third parties for advertising purposes.

Data are retained for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above, to support the professional relationship and to meet applicable legal obligations. The need for retention is reviewed periodically, and data are no longer kept when they cease to be necessary. Consent may be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of prior consent.

5. Contact form

The form is processed by the Cloudflare infrastructure used by this website. The message is forwarded to Lua Serena by email, and the sender receives a confirmation containing a copy of the submitted text. The email service provider processes the data required to send, receive and reply to the message.

Submissions are not stored on an external form-management platform. The minimum technical data used to limit abusive use are retained temporarily.

6. Bookings

To display availability and manage a booking, we collect the customer’s name, email address, telephone number, selected service, date and time and, when provided, optional booking notes. We use this information only to confirm, reschedule, cancel and manage the booking, send the related communications and meet applicable administrative obligations. A booking does not create a client record or include health information; a client record is created later only with the person’s consent and signature.

If a technical problem prevents a booking from being completed in our own system, a direct link to Cal.com may be offered as an alternative. This option opens only when chosen by the user and is then subject to that platform’s privacy policy and cookie preferences.

7. Security and technical resources

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against spam and abuse. To perform this check, Cloudflare processes technical signals from the browser and device. These resources are used solely for security.

The website loads fonts through Google Fonts and some images through Unsplash. When providing these files, those services may receive standard connection data, such as the IP address and browser information.

8. Retention

Messages and booking data are retained in email for as long as needed to respond to the request, support the professional relationship, keep the relevant history and comply with legal obligations. The need for retention is reviewed periodically, and data are deleted when no longer necessary.

9. Cookies and external services

This website does not use analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. The browser stores only the language preference selected by the visitor. Identifiers strictly required to secure the forms through Cloudflare Turnstile and for access sessions in the private consultation-record area may also be used.

Instagram is no longer embedded in the website. The profile and other social networks are opened only when the user chooses to follow an external link. From that point, the policies and preferences of the relevant service apply.

10. Your rights

You may request access to, correction, restriction or deletion of your data, object to processing or withdraw your consent by contacting info@luaserena.pt. Requests will be reviewed in accordance with applicable law.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD).

11. Updates

This information may be updated when changes are made to the website, the services used or the way data are processed.
